One of my uncles was stationed at Norfolk and lived in VA Beach. I can remember driving that bridge. In 2012 I moved to VA Beach briefly to take care of my grandmother and at least once a week I traveled that bridge going from VA Beach to Easton, MD. I know what you mean about getting a little anxiety driving through the tunnel portions especially when you're behind a big truck or if there's one going the other direction. You guys are beyond blessed with those grandbabies. They are so cute.

Spent the day with the MrsNH and the kids at Onset beach. Some people call it cape cod but its before the bridge so it's really Buzzards bay. I was surprised at how quite it was there. Labor day around here is the official end of summer so I would have figured it would have been packed.
My oldest has a cast net and spent most of the day catching small blue fin. Hundreds at a time sometimes. I said he should open a bait business. I spent my time swimming and playing water football with the kids. I was the QB for both sides and no rushing the QB.
Then we went to East Wind Lobster and Grill for fried clam strips and cod. And yes, I did eat some of the fries so fuck you A1C. I figure once or twice a year should be fine. (sorry spooky)

It was 88 degrees, and I have to dry a half-day each way, about an hour into my drive, the inside of the car reached 48 degrees (due to powerfully good air conditioing), and I was starting to shiver, so I turned it up to 54 degrees, and I relented and turned it up to 58, and then in my moment of weakness up to 62 where it remained for the rest of my journey. The vehicle can haul 60 MPH in the desert, and with four zones I can "make cold" the entire interior and hold it at 54 all day long.

I hesitated to reveal this today,but found a reason everyone should be aware of. I buried my Mom today She went fast while in a nursing home and I have no feelings of "it's was to soon" she lived to be 93 and was bright and full of life until the very end. She didn't go from Covid,just worn out parts. What I want to bring to everyones attention is the fact my siblings and I while going threw her pictures and stuff very quickly wished we had labeled group pics or family pics on the back. Names that were so familiar were just gone. We're smiling and laughing with these people and now we don't know their names. Probably the worst feeling I had in the last week. These people ment something to us at one time and we no longer remember them. Take the time to label you photos. you'll be glad you did,or at least your family will at some point in time.and last but not least is I learned that power of attorney ends when your loved one dies. Be prepared, the lawyers get theirs no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Sorry to inject a down kinda thing but it really isn't for me. she lived a long fruitful life and it was her time to meet the man. She'll probably talk his ear off. My Dad and 2 other brothers are done waiting for her.

An Australian, an Irishman, and a Brit were sitting in a bar. There was only one other person in the bar. The three men kept looking at this other man, for he seemed terribly familiar. They stared and stared, wondering where they had seen him before when suddenly the Irishman cried out:

Then the Australian calls out: "Oy you! D'ya reckon you're Jesus or what?" Jesus nods and says: "Yes, I am Jesus". The Australian is mighty impressed and has the bartender send over a pot of Fosters for Jesus which Jesus accepts with pleasure.

The Brit then calls out: "Oii whack, would you be Jesus"? Jesus smiles and says: "Yes, I am Jesus". The Brit beckons the bartender and tells him to send over a Tom Collins for Jesus, which the bartender duly does. As before, Jesus accepts the drink and smiles over at the table.

Finally, after finishing the drinks, Jesus leaves his seat and approaches our three friends. He reaches for the hand of the Irishman and shakes it, thanking him for the Guinness. When he lets go, the Irishman gives a cry of amazement: "Oh God! The arthritis is gone! The arthritis I've had for decades is gone! It's a miracle"!

Jesus then shakes the Australian's hand, thanking him for the lager.

Upon letting go, the Australian's eyes widen in shock: "By jingo mate, the migraine! The migraine I've had for 40 years is completely gone it's a miracle"!!!

Jesus then goes to approach the Brit who says: "Back off, mate! I'm on Disability"!

So here is one.
A person with knowledge of aircraft wonders if he could go to Afghanistan and work for the new government and make some &&.
Being that they are full of Aircraft and high demand for pilots may be a good way to go.
Possible Problems.
Since the person wants to not break the law and become outcast from Uncle Sam he would have to make sure the State Dept would not freak out. (however one would go about that)
Getting along with the Taliban is very likely much easier that one may expect (Ottoman Empire)
This person does not really want involved in any Violence (fighting ISIS) just complexity one would wisely avoid…
Thoughts?
Supply and demand exist in a very real way…
Oh, and this person has no military background which would be + in this hypothetical situation.

As someone who’s been to Afghanistan, I see a few problems not to mention aiding the enemy.

The first problem is they’ll kill you in a number of horrific ways.
The second problem is they’ll pass you around like a bowl of chips on Super Bowl Sunday and pound your ass and then kill you in a number of horrific ways.
They can recruit any number of pilots and mechanics from any number of Islamic States.
They would only need a “Non Believer,” like you, on “Man Love Thursday” and then they’ll kill you on Friday.
