I was mad at my cats for a while I feed them dry food and wet food. They kept biting at the bottom of the bag, I had the racoons blamed because I would leave food out on the back porch for the cats, and thinned out a few for that. But when I brought the bag inside and placed it inside of a vertical container and found them trying to chew holes in it again. Then I saw them trying to pull out the cans from some plastic bags. I stopped being mad, I figure its them learning how to hunt skills... You know he the alpha cat provider uses the can opener or pulls the tab on top and gets them before that from some bags over here... they closely watch me when they want food. They are just try to share the hunt (I have a history of giving excuses to those I am scrutinizing. Big teddy bear, as long as its innocent stuff. So you may have to forgive your tabby for hunting the doves. Its just natural. Mine always bring moles and feild mice in one time a field rat. A snake. Previous cats would leave them at the foot of my bed, or at my feet. I knew when they were mad at me, they would drop them off in my shoes.
