This song use to belong to the Wehrmacht's Niebelungen Panzer Division, also adopted by the Romanian Waffen SS Troops in '43. After the WWII, a lot of former German soldiers joined the French Foreign Legion and even today the Legion has this French rendition of this great military march. The old Romanian Waffen SS song became now the anthem of the Legion's 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment out of Calvi, in Mediterranean Sea. I bet Don knows about this because there were a lot of NATO cross training involving the US Navy's 5th Fleet and the European counterparts. Anyway, I don't thing there is any unit in today's Europe's military that would equal the US SEALS. The today's German GSGN and the French Legion's 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment 4th Amphibious Company might come in close, but not at the same level.
