back in the ARMY days, there use to be buildings on post dedicated to just pay phones so we could call family/friends. Im doubting seriously they still have those. in Basic, there was like 6 or 7 pay phones we could only use on Sundays, the whole company could use them during the designated time, yall that never served may not understand how 'important' it was to call back home and brag about something you did that was actually fun, like RANGE DAYS! throwin a live hand grenade the 1st time, etc. I dont know how they do that now since everyone has a cell, dont know if Basic Recruits are allowed to use them or not, do they have access to them at certain times or what but hearing home sometimes was a great morale booster

We went to the fireworks show and made dam sure to get a  front row seat, right next to the yellow tape, so hopefully I could get some great shots. Last year, I was too far away and had to constantly adjust my camera angle whenever a new motor box started up, which was very busy and took away from enjoying the show. So here we are, sitting in the sweltering heat. They just finished singing the Star-Spangled Banner, and the show starts. Almost immediately, I started to feel uneasy as spent fireworks debris began raining down. Then, one round got lodged in the tube, and BOOM!!! Clusters went zipping over our heads. BigRed said, "I'm out of here MF  see you back at the car."
