I saw that, this guy is qualified in internal medicine, cardiology and is an academic professor of medicine.

These guys differ from the "treat the herd" docs who prescribe pills for cholesterol and high blood pressure. There are docs who are great neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons who keep up with their specialties but are decades away from their biological science and what little virology they had in med school.

Fuck work. Curious about everyone on 9/11. I was outside San Francisco riding BART when my girlfriend called me and said that something happened. Right about that time they stopped the BART train just before it went under the bay to SF. I remember people getting off the train and milling about. I went back to my apartment in San Ramon and was fixed on the TV. I just could not believe what I was seeing.

In the bottom of this photo, you can see Ladder 118 crossing over the Brooklyn Bridge on their way to the World Trade Center. This is their last known photo. Every single firefighter on that truck perished just a few minutes later. We vowed to never forget. Unfortunately, so many have.

I still duck and turkey hunt. I don't deer hunt because I just don't need the meat and all my relatives hunt and their kids hunt and I've still got deer steaks from last year. Ha.
I do like going to deer camp. I'm taking one of my grand nieces out for her first deer hunt with her Dad. That's going to be fun. As much deer as we have (white tail) she will get one. Took her out the other day to check the zero on her bolt action and he shot lights out at 100. She will do well

I waas in college (after my ARMY days) and it was either Tuesday or Thursday, because it was one of my short days (only 1 class on those days). I always slept with radio on and I kinda woke up when I heard the news say the 1st tower was hit, but drifted back off a lil. 2nd tower hit, Im up!!
my Brother-in-Law was PCS'ing from Scott AFB to Pentagon. Pentagon hit, THANKFULLY he had his PCS leave extended looking for housing! USAF called him pretty much immediately, told him he had 24 hours to report! he was in ALLEGED Military Intelligence. I said fuck college! stayed glued to every news source I could! when I went back to college next day, I found my professor, told her why I missed class, she didn't seem to really care though so there was a class Id paid for that I no longer went to!
talked with the recruiters about going back in active--DENIED due to permanent profile.

Its a lot of work looking after all those dogs and cats and a husband.

Photo Friday: Finally got her leg out of a cast the term fearless comes to mind

Friday night and the weekend is here. Gonna share the thought of the day...

I have learned more about cooking from your shows Diane than anywhere else. Thank you so much for doing them the way you do.

I soak dove, duck, and goose in hot vinegar and sea salt for six hours or so to force the salt and vinegar into the meat, I then soak in olive oil (with a huge amount of salt), some pepper and Tabasco Sauce, and slowly increase the heat to boil off moisture, taking care to keep the meat wet and not dry in out. I then add oregano and flaked parsley, more olive oil, and a pinch more water and I use the boil-off o the water to determine the duration, of the cook. Before I serve, I add chopped green onions and an amount of churned butter that is equal to the weight of the bird meat. Salt is vital to keeping the meat moist, as if the oil and butter. I usually melt the butter down and salt the hell out of it, so I am adding butter to the olive oil. I tend to keep the temperature low and go for a long duration of salt soaking. I also use heavy cream while still cooking, but only the last five minutes of cooking. I then dip in straight hot oilve oil between the skillet and the plate and put on Hallidaise Sauce, and a streak of Tabasco once plated. I also place a small cup of Hollandaise sauce in a gravy bowl, and some heavily salted oil out. I also preheat the plate to 150 and keep the food in a kitchen salamander set at 150 degrees. If dinner is delayed I pull the salamander and mist oil on the duck. I hold the heat so the meat is 135 degrees the moment the plate hits the table. I also use a bottle of cheap champagne to baptize the bird meat and boil it down on the birds to make a secret fish and fowl sauce, which will also contain a bit of fresh baked garlic. The dumpling looks amazing, I can taste them from this end. The same recipe for muskrat, nutria, and racoon.
