Brought back old memories MC. As junior man in Aux. division in the mid 60's I got the priviledge to go into the sanitary tanks for an inspection. Cycled water threw several times but only cleans the big stuff out. With an EAB and my skivies I inspected the hell out of that tank. Needless to say I was a sight to behold and collected several laughs afterward. The best part was I got even with the bunch when blowing sanitary tanks after they came back to ship a little more than drunk. The good part was they had to clean all the little pieces of paper off everything when they finally got the ball valve shut. I put the signs on and they ignored them. Only ever saw one guy with claustrophia;he was a reservist from Detoit who got his dolphins on a tied up WW2 submarine. He never went to sea on it. The Captain made him try to requalify the right way--cured his claustrophia problem. He only made one cruise --guess he didn't like subs afterall. He left without his dolphins though.

The Master Chief videos are awesome. What a memory he has! And a great storyteller - just like the Shipleys. The Smithsonian needs to get these stories down on record as a valuable part of American History. (I'm serious). Thank you Hershel! Keep 'em coming!

I have two step daughters which I call bonus daughters. Anyway, they are in high school. I asked them if they knew anything about the Vietnam war. Sadly, they didn't other than it took place. I appreciate you sharing your experience and your heart. I served post Vietnam. My Dad served in Navy in Korean War. My family has a rich heritage of Navy. Now have a cousin who is a Commander in D.C. Scott Gilpin, and my nephew is nuclear electronics. My sister married a poser who tried the Navy Seal shit on me. He's still got her fooled I think. Don verified his sorry ass. Thank you for your service in theaters and your continued service to others. Godspeed sir.

I was so frustrated by the Navy letting sailors stay in bad physical condition. I wrote a letter to the Capt and CNO in Washington to see if I could transfer to the Marine Corp. lol. Didn't happen of course. I was with amp hips so I made life long brothers with some Marines and Navy alike. Captain was not amused by my letter other than laughing. I'm sure the CNO had a good laugh. I was 18 country boy, didnt know any better. I could listen to guys like you all day. I served from 79-85 and stayed in shape. haha.

Is it too late for MC to run for President?
There'd be a lot less meetings, and a lot more action.
