Does a FAL shoot like M-14?

I shoot my match grade AR's due to the fact that at a rapid fire stage you almost never lose the front sight downrange as opposed to the higher recoil of the M-1A(.308). That being said...I LOVE my Springfield "Super Match" and there is no better match round than the 168gr Sierra bullet atop it. I've shot some 1000yd matches(no scope) at Camp Perry with it but the rear sight didn't have enough elevation so I turned the front post down a couple clicks. I always say that a .308 is a "mans" rifle...just feels like you're shooting as opposed to the pellet gun feel of a match grade, 14lb AR.
