Seeing (for the first time) Marcus's interview of him condemning himself, broke my heart. Being this is Memorial Day weekend, made it even more difficult for me. Having a wounded team member reaching out for help from you and there's not a damn thing you can do to save them is.......ugh! I spent six years in active therapy and another couple of decades working to heal what they now call 'moral injury'. After 38 years of living, working, and running internal recon, I finally began sleeping well.

I was TDY to Panama in November & December of 87. Noriega was in charge then. A refueling jet from Grissom crashed before I got there. Should have heard the variation of stories of what happened. Didn't exactly like the idea of being one of the next passengers in next refueler from Grissom AFB to Panama.
They asked if anyone wanted to night flying over Panama so the pilot could get more training.
Hmmm no thanks.(refueling aircraft flying near hostile drug cartels) maybe I will pass on that poking the bear mission.

I am lost for words, bravery is just a word isn't it. Honestly, couldn't be a SEAL because of the extreme physical training.
