I'm sure Don did some behind the scenes checks on this gentleman that was not made public and he has a few aces up his sleeve prior to listing names on the data base. I still get the feeling Don is not comfortable with this one yet and personally, my spidey-sense is giving me vibes that he was not added for not completing the swim training and the Navy viewed he did not meet the criteria to be considered an official graduate of the program. Maybe it is not that cut/dry. I just feel a bit leery as his son is doing research and could have found some of this information out. I think he is legit with his resume and honestly feels he graduated. Maybe Don can give us a quick video on this UDT vs SEAL evolution as I am guessing in today's SEAL or Spec Op's world you are not getting the Trident or other badge of recognition without completing all phases of training. Maybe things were more chaotic and forgiving back in those days and/or you simply got some of the training "on the job" like the gentlemen stated in the phone call. I would think back then the swimming portion would be a mandatory requirement and must be completed at the official training school. As Don stated in this new video, evolution has moved the SEALs more away from the stringent diving rigor, but I would think during this gentlemen's tenure it was a must.  I get the feeling this one is going to be a tough one to make a call on. This reminds me a bit of the video from a few years ago where Don was scratching his head over a gentleman professing to be a SEAL that was brought to his attention over a photo/video with the President and the gentlemen was not listed but eventually Don solved the mystery. The guy was in fact a SEAL in Vietnam and a pretty big badass but missed some of the formal BUDS training. I think he was a corpsman. I could be wrong with the exact facts but similar story in a way. Don actually was ready to call him out as fake but did a little more research on him and it was legit. Maybe this newest guy not being listed is legit but I think all can be true, but the Navy did not pass him strictly based on missing the swim training.
