Gunny Hartman is the Man! I remeber seeing it when it first came out and I heard all of his ranting for the first time. Funny stuff! Still funny after all these years. I'm sure everyone has a favorite. I always thought the "reach around" was the funniest thing I'd ever heard.

Clipclop, I thought he was auditioning and the director already had someone for that role, and he started the whole drill instructor thing to the director. (Kubrick I think) and he won the job right then?? Could be wrong, but that's how I thought he got it by barking orders at the director! That's funny shit either way!

Love Gunny Hartman. Trivia: He was not cast in that role. He was a consultant for that movie and the actor didn't get the scene right. Ermy went to wardrobe and came back to demonstrate. The rest is history...
