Don, very glad that You and the family had very seemingly great and comfortable 4th. It was busy here along LI Sound with all the huge fireworks shows, along with picnicking on a big level amongst people. I haven't seen it that busy in years but all the damn what sounded like dynamite exploding scared Mom out of her skin!! I have her set up in a place that looks out at the Sound due to mobility limits so she and our cat Bailey 🐈 were up in blood pressure. I wanted to ask since im not a versatile eater, how does geese taste compared to turkey or chicken? On the bland side? Acquired taste? Looks darn good!! Stay healthy!

I had goose ONCE. It was greasy and gross. Mom was a great cook but fell flat on Christmas 1972. The Falon cameo was awesome dare I say, wow.

Evening all. NHdad is waiting to get COVID a second time. My son went to CA to spend some time with his uncle. About three days in the Uncle tested positive for COVID and felt really sick. My son sat in the house for the next week but tested negative before he caught his flight home. I don't see how he will not get infected. Last time I had a mild case but MrsNH had a terrible case. Fuck!

Beautiful cooked goose, Don. Wow. Perfect color too. You can tell it's tender and juicy. Brining's the way to go... only way we do our turkeys. Also started to do it with cheapass porkchops, and holy shit, does it make a difference. Days of sawdust chops are over, at least at our place. I like to add some cracked all spice and a bit of nutmeg too in the brine.

Terrence Bucklew was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Initially trained in communications, Bucklew accepted many different assignments on his lengthy deployment to Vietnam - from field wireman to door gunner to running night ambushes.
