You are right about a turkey's eye site. If they see the whites of your eyes they will be spooked off. I hope you have a successful turkey hunt. That young man will never forget the adrenaline rush of his first gobbler. I still get excited when my call convinces a big Tom to get closer to you. Well ESEers, the world just lost another WWII Navy vet today. he was my best friend VN vets widow's father.
I think he was 94. Cooper was his last name. He helped do landing craft on D-Day, then went to Pacific to do the same over there until end of the war. I only met him twice. he lived in my same town. his youngest daughter will be loosing his SS money now. they would not put him in a home due to her greed ( not the widow of my departed friend), just to collect his money, Oh shit did I say that out loud?
I am not so affected by this, My wife will be more so, due to her very closeness with her our friend.
I hate death, funerals, etc. I do not handle them well when I am at them. As hard as I think I am, I get so emotional when shit like this happens. I do not go so low I can not get back up soon. Helping my wife will be my job. I hope I can do that well.
