I noticed that Don stated he has poor file management skills. File management is a fancy way of describing the operation of the device. You can leave everything in folders on the desktop or you can come up with specific locations on your HDD (or SSD) to store them. I lump handling downloads and where you put the downloads into file management. File management get harder, for example, you are having a problem with an application and you post to a computer forum for help. People can ask you to post back certain files to help diagnose the problem. You have to be able to locate the files requested and copy them to be sent to the proper person on the computer help site you logged on to. This means you must know something about how the website you are using for help works (something like the one "download" button we have here). File management is a skill that gets better and better the more you test yourself. I have not even touched on locating photos on the web and including them in a paper you are preparing. I was an auto mechanic for 35+ years, I slowed down a good bit so I thought I would retrain in IT at 52 years old (twelve years ago). Mechanics did not normally get asked for education credentials when I entered the field. I had to get a GED to get my Network Administration degree from a community college (never got asked for one my entire life). I took right to "the computer". I had to retire after an accident in the hospital left me disabled (hospital acquired infection, in my neck). Never got to use my shiny new degree. Even with what you say are poor file management skills you are definitely getting the job done Don
